Thanks to Newburgh chef Mike Kelly of Liberty Street Bistro, students got a hands-on experience and learned how cooking, much like writing poetry, involves passion, emotion and creativity.
During the visit, Kelly guided the students as they made pasta and sauce from scratch, while also using imagery to create poems for their Core-X class.
“By diving hands first into this workshop, students got to see how being creative in the classroom can transfer to being creative in the culinary world,” Tabone said.
