Peekskill Middle School Chorus Wins Top Honor At Music Festival

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Performing for the first time at the High Notes Music Festival at Lake Compounce in Bristol on June 1, the Peekskill Middle School Chorus brought home a superior trophy for its performance.

Out of three categories of "good," "excellent" and "superior," the chorus came home with a trophy for superior singing and vocal technique, having scored a 94 percent out of 100.

"The students are already looking for ways to beat their score next year, " said Crystal Hernandez, leader of the Peekskill School District's Performing Arts Department. "I am so incredibly proud of these students for their hard work and dedication to the art of singing."
