Akpan teamed up with Harriet Evans to produce the "I'm Tired" exhibition, which is currently on display at Hudson Valley Center of Contemporary Arts.

For the "I'm Tired" project, students shared what they were "tired of" in relation to everyday micro-aggressions, assumptions and stereotypes.

Each participating student's statement was written on their hand beginning with the words "I'm tired of" and then photographed.

Donna Mikkelson, the Educational Director at Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Arts, and Peekskill High School art teacher Heather Brown assisted Akpan in painting and photographing the students' hands.

More than 50 students participated.

The hand photos will be displayed in June alongside Akpan and Evan's "I'm Tired" project at HVCCA.
