Panas Collects Money For World Polio Day

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Students and faculty at Panas High School in Cortlandt participated in a fundraising event on Friday, Oct. 24 in honor of World Polio Day.

Students and staff raised approximately $100 during their lunch periods to raise awareness of the disease.

The effort was coordinated with the Cortlandt Manor Rotary Club and school librarian Gina Cerone.

Daily announcements were made each morning that week about polio. In addition, a short film was shown by each Social Studies teacher in the high school to inform students about the disease.
