The flapjack-flipping contest was organized to raise awareness for National Pancake Day March 7, which benefits local hospitals.

The event, which is part of a month-long fundraiser for children’s hospitals in cooperation with IHOP® Restaurants nationwide, was held Feb. 27 at the IHOP restaurant in Mohegan Lake.

The fundraiser ends Tuesday, March 7, with National Pancake Day, a day when IHOP offers one free short stack of its famous buttermilk pancakes per customer in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals, of which Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital is a member.

So far, the Mohegan Lake IHOP has raised more than $18,000  in donations for the hospital.
