Sandra N. Ferraro, 62, Beacon Resident

BEACON, N.Y. – Sandra N. Ferraro (Novitsky), a 25-year resident of Beacon and formerly of Westchester County, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. She was 62.

The daughter of Jerome and Nadya Novitsky, she was born in Manhattan on Dec. 4, 1953. She worked for many years at Dellwood Dairy in Westchester, where she worked as an accountant. She pursued many hobbies and became a skilled artist and sculptor. As a child, her work was on display in the Children's Museum of the Modern Museum of Art. She attended the First Reformed Church of Fishkill and was a member of the Chelsea Yacht Club. She held an associate degree in marketing from Brooklyn College, attended King's College in Briarcliff Manor and earned a degree in accounting from Lehman College.

On Oct. 18, 1997, she married Andrew Ferraro at the First Reformed Church of Fishkill.

Her husband survives at home in Beacon. She is also survived by her mother, Nadya Novitsky, and sister Deborah Novitsky.

She was predeceased by her father, a decorated World War II veteran.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill Inc., 1089 Main St., Fishkill. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Gloria McCanna officiating.
