Terrence Murphy Is Sworn In As 40th District State Senator

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Republican Terrence Murphy was officially sworn in as the new state senator for the 40th district, representing parts of Westchester, Dutchess and all of Putnam counties during a ceremony in Yorktown Heights on Thursday.

Murphy defeated Justin Wagner in November to take the seat previously held by Sen. Greg Ball.

The 40th senate district includes Armonk, Bedford, Briarcliff, Chappaqua, Cortlandt, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, North Salem, Peekskill, Pleasantville, Pound Ridge, Yorktown and areas of Putnam and Dutchess counties.
