WESTCHESTER, N.Y. – Democratic Peekskill City Council member Darren Rigger, while not a delegate, has been in Charlotte, N.C., for the Democratic National Convention and was on hand for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's speech Thursday morning.
"Gov. Cuomo is addressing the New York State delegation at a breakfast in Charlotte," Rigger explained. "He said Republicans created the crisis that we faced in 2008 and now their plan is to have the middle class and poor shoulder the burden of fixing it. That's not fair. What is fair is that we all fix it together"
Cuomo also said he is confident that America will make the right choice in this election by voting for Obama.
"[He said] this is a gut check election," Rigger said.
The DNC wraps up Thursday night with speeches by Vice President Joe Biden and President Barack Obama.
