WESTCHESTER, N.Y. Democratic Peekskill City Council member Darren Rigger is in Charlotte, N.C., for the Democratic National Convention, where he attended the New York delegation breakfast Tuesday.
"The overall theme was that we want America to move forward not back to the failed ideas of the eight Bush years," Rigger told The Daily Voice. "The hundreds of people in the room were fired up and ready to go."
Speakers Tuesday morning included U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, who told reporters, "Whoever lays out the path to the future to help the middle class will win. We have to show middle-class Americans why we are better for them."
