Hillary Clinton Says Thanks To Chappaqua Neighbors For Show Of Support

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Hillary Clinton has kept a low profile since losing to Donald Trump in the Nov. 8 presidential election.

Hillary Clinton's neighbors on Old House Lane in Chappaqua posted lawn signs thanking her for running for president.

But the former first lady and secretary of state said she was grateful to her neighbors in Chappaqua for signs of support. Literally.

Clinton's Old House Lane neighbors posted lawn signs on Thanksgiving, thanking Clinton for running for president.

"I was greeted by this heartwarming display on the corner of my street today," Clinton tweeted @hillaryclinton late Thursday afternoon. "Thank you to all of you who did this. Happy Thanksgiving. -H"

Some of the signs were lettered in different colors to call attention to the text.

One sign read "“We are thankful for Hillary. An American hero."

Since delivering a concession speech to Donald Trump on Nov. 9, Clinton has only made one public appearance -- a speech, at Children's Defense Fund's "Beat The Odds" Gala in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 16.

Clinton was seen with family members browsing at The Savoy Bookstore in Waverly, Rhode Island, on Sunday. Store employee Jessica Wick posted a photo with Clinton on Facebook.

"Today I met Hillary Clinton," Wick wrote. "This was a surprise and I can't imagine meeting anyone else who looms as large.

Locally, she was spotted by a supporter hiking with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in a wooded area in Chappaqua two days after Election Day and was also seen on Wednesday at the Chappaqua Village Market on King Street shopping for cheese with Bill Clinton and their daughter, Chelsea, and grandchildren Charlotte and Aidan.
