Police investigated the incident and charged the 14-year-old, whose name is withheld due to his being juvenile, with juvenile delinquency, according to police.

Had he been an adult, he would have been charged with second-degree aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor, police said.

The charge stems from a Monday morning incident in which a student resource officer at Yorktown High School was alerted by a student about receiving threatening text messages from the accused, said police.

Police investigated the incident, and about noon the student and a parent arrived at Yorktown police headquarters, according to police.

Following the interview, the teen was charged, police said.

A juvenile appearance ticket was issued to the juvenile and parent, directing them to appear in Westchester County Family Court on Thursday, June 30, according to police.
