Yorktown Police: Shrub Oak Man Arrested After Theft Of Leaf Blower

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Christopher Ahlstedt, a 38-year-old Shrub Oak resident, has been arrested and charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree by Yorktown police, according to police.

Police say they were advised by Quality Lawn Mower Service of a larceny suspect who fled the area on foot. Police responded to the scene to investigate the complaint and found that the suspect removed a leaf blower valued at $1,600 from the property without any attempt to pay for it, according to police. Following the investigation, the defendant was taken into custody for grand larceny, according to police.

The defendant was subsequently processed at Yorktown police headquarters and later released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m.
