Woman Nabbed Smuggling Drugs Into Green Haven Correctional Facility

A 28-year-old woman is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly attempting to bring several drugs into the Green Haven Correctional Facility in Stormville.

New York State Police troopers were called by New York State Corrections Officers at the facility on Saturday, Jan. 13 regarding reports of a woman in possession of various drugs.

According to police, further investigation determined that Queens resident Anna Whitworth, 28, was attempting to bring crack-cocaine, marijuana and a quantity of unspecified pills into the Green Haven Correctional Facility.

Police arrested Whitworth, charging her with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband. She was also cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Following arraignment at the Town of Pleasant Valley Court, Whitworth was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. She is due back in the Town of Beekman Court on Thursday to answer the charges.
