Woman Charged With Stealing From Sears In Yorktown With Daughter

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Mahopac resident was charged with shoplifting after being caught on Monday stealing items from the Sears store at the Jefferson Valley Mall.

A local woman was charged with shoplifting and endangering the welfare of a child after she was caught stealing items from the Sears at the Jefferson Valley Mall along with her nine-year-old daughter.

Kathleen McDevitt, 49, was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, after she was caught taking the $99 in items from the store while with her 9-year-old daughter, Yorktown Police said.

McDevitt was released on $200 bail and is due to appear in court on Oct. 4.
