Police said that a call was received from the pharmacy reporting a past larceny. An officer conducted an investigation which revealed that at approximately 2:24 p.m. the woman stole the Beenie baby, according to police.
Police said that the owner of the pharmacy contacted Yorktown police and advised that Carey had returned to the store. An officer was dispatched to the scene and following an investigation arrested Carey in reference to the larceny that occurred on Saturday .
Following processing at Police Headquarters on a charge of petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, Carey was released without bail and ordered to answer the charge in Yorktown Justice Court on April 16 at 6 p.m.
