Fugitive From Mexico Wanted For Gang Activity Apprehended In Dutchess

RHINEBECK, N.Y. – A 24-year-old criminal fugitive from Mexico was arrested last week by the Rhinebeck Police Department.

Juan Macario Martinez, a 24-year-old wanted in Mexico on a felony warrant, was arrested by Rhinebeck police.

The man was wanted in Mexico on a felony warrant for gang-related activity, Village of Rhinebeck police said in a press release.

Rhinebeck police assisted the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in capturing Juan Macario Martinez, who is expected to be deported, according to the news release.

The Schenectady Police Department Capital District Safe Streets Task Force Gang Unit in Martinez' arrest on June 16. He was arrested on a felony warrant for extradition out of the United States, according to Rhinebeck police.

Martinez, an undocumented resident, was processed at the Village of Rhinebeck Police Department and turned over to Homeland Security and the Capital District Safe Streets Task Force Gang Unit.
