Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges For Hudson Valley Residents

Two Hudson Valley residents are facing drug charges after New York State Police stopped their car in Lloyd Friday because of too much window tinting.

Antonio McGill, 29, of Poughkeepsie, and Summer Plain, 21, of Cornwall, are both charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; criminally using drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.

State troopers stopped the car on State Route 9W in Lloyd for illegal/excessive window tints, police said. During the investigation, police found both of them were carrying a quantity of MDMA (a hallucinogenic substance) and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Also, they both had a small quantity of marijuana, police said. Both have been arraigned in Lloyd and each were ordered held in Ulster County Jail on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.

They're due back in court at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
