Taconic Parkway Traffic Stop In Milan Results In Weapons Charge

A traffic stop for speeding and illegally towing a trailer on the Taconic State Parkway has resulted in a man facing a weapons charge.

State Police arrested Thomas F. Swartley of Green Lane, Pa., for criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree on Friday, Jan. 13.

After the traffic stop in Milan in northwestern Dutchess, Swartley was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun without a NYS pistol permit, police said.

Swartley was arraigned at the Village of Rhinebeck court where he was released on his own recognizance.
