Peekskill Resident Charged In DWI Crackdown

In an effort to combat intoxicated and impaired drivers throughout Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties, the New York State Police conducted a DWI crackdown from Friday, Oct. 14 through Monday, Oct. 17.

Those arrested included:

  • Ljuban Milic, 65, of New Rochelle, for criminal possession of a weapon and DWI. Milic was stopped by police on Route 82 for failing to dim his high beams to on-coming traffic and found to unlawfully possess a .22 caliber handgun. He is being held at the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail.
  • Bryan Guerra Ramirez, 22, of Brewster, for DWI. Following a one-car collision investigation conducted on Tonetta Lake Road, Ramirez was found to be intoxicated. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a blood alcohol content of .13 percent.
  • Christopher Espinal, 22, of Danbury, Conn., with DWI and unlawful fleeing a police officer. Troopers observed the defendant traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour on the Interstate 684. Espinal failed to stop for the police vehicle and continued to travel at a high rate of speed. He did stop for police on Interstate 84 and was placed in custody. Espinal provided a breath sample that yielded a blood alcohol content of .11 percent.
  • Raymond J. Squires, 56, Cold Spring, for DWI. Squires was arrested for DWI after troopers investigated a one-car crash that occurred on Route 9 in Philipstown. 
  • Sean C. McGuire, 24, of Fishkill, with DWI. Following a one-car rollover collision investigation conducted on Park Hill Drive, McGuire was found to be intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .12 percent. 
  •  Christine B. Bannon, 57, of Wappingers Falls, for driving while ability impaired by drugs. Troopers were dispatched to a two-car hit and run crash that occurred on Route 9 in Wappinger. Following an investigation it was discovered that Bannon had struck the rear of another vehicle and fled the crash site. She was located at her residence and was found to be impaired by drugs. 
  • Dennis A. Rivera, 25, of Poughkeepsie, for aggravated DWI. Rivera was arrested for DWI after troopers investigated a one-car crash that occurred on Route 9D. Rivera provided a breath sample that yielded a blood alcohol content of .18 percent.
  • Katelyn Gardner, 21, of East Fishkill, with DWI. Troopers stopped Gardner on State Route 22 for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation revealed that she was intoxicated at the time of the stop. The defendant provided a breath sample that yielded a blood alcohol content of .14 percent.
  •  Miguel S. Munoz-Lopez, 39, of Danbury, Conn., for DWI. Munoz-Lopez was stopped by police on Interstate 84 for speeding. A subsequent investigation revealed that he was intoxicated at the time of the stop. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a blood alcohol content of .17 percent.
  • Christopher M. Dolphin, 24, of Fishkill, for DWI. Dolphin was arrested for DWI after troopers stopped the car he was operating on N. Mission Road for an inoperable head light. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a blood alcohol content of .10 percent.
  • Ana Chavez, 55, of Carmel, with DWI. Following a traffic stop conducted on Route 22 for failure to maintain her lane of travel, Chavez was arrested for DWI. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a blood alcohol content of .10 percent.
  • Michael J. Thompson, Jr., 40,  of Cortlandt Manor, for DWI. Thompson was charged with DWI following a vehicle and traffic complaint investigation. Thompson provided a breath sample that yielded a blood alcohol content of .16 percent.
  • Gladys Granda Fajardo, 29, of Peekskill, New York, for DWI. Granda Fajardo was arrested for DWI after troopers stopped her for speeding and failing to maintain her designated lane of travel. Granda Fajardo provided a breath sample that yielded a blood alcohol content of .10 percent.
  • Craig W. Bergquist, 34, of Lake Peekskill, with felony DWI. Troopers stopped Bergquist on Westbrook Road for speeding. Further investigation revealed that he was intoxicated at the time of the stop. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a blood alcohol content of .10 percent. Bergquist was charged with felony DWI due to a previous DWI related conviction from 2008. 
  • Carlos Gonzalez, 36, of Beacon, for DWI. Gonzalez was arrested for DWI following a one-car collision investigation. 
  • Maureen Quinn, 53, of Cortlandt, with DWI. Quinn was charged with DWI following a traffic stop for failing to exercise due care when passing an emergency vehicle. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a blood alcohol content of .14 percent.
  • Henry K. Gumbrecht, 47, of Putnam Valley, for DWI. Gumbrecht was charged with DWI following a traffic stop for speeding.
