PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – A second person has been charged in Friday’s fatal stabbing of a Peekskill man, according to Peekskill police.
Detectives charged 32-year-old Maurice Walker of Mount Vernon, who already was being held on an unrelated charge, in the slaying of 23-year-old Alexander Rochester. Rochester was a Bronx resident who had recently moved to Peekskill, police said.
Walker was brought Wednesday from the Westchester County Jail to Peekskill City Court for arraignment on a charge of second-degree murder, a class A felony.
Walker, who police said had a feud with Rochester, was charged after detectives analyzed forensic and video evidence. Police said that he acted with 29-year-old Sunil Williams of Mount Vernon and that Williams stabbed Rochester multiple times. The investigation is continuing, although no further arrests are expected.
The following items also were reported by Peekskill police:
DWI: Joseph Khoury, 23, of Cortlandt Manor was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, on Route 202 by Police Officer Mike Lawrence. Khoury was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; and several traffic violations. He was stopped for speeding and crossing into the oncoming lane of traffic, police said. Khoury refused to submit to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol concentration, police said. He was released on his own recognizance and is due Dec. 3 in City Court.
Cocaine Arrest: Nathanial Stewart, 49, of Peekskill was arrested at 3 p.m. Nov. 21 and charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony. Detectives Joe McGann and Anthony Malfitano arrested him in the 100 block of Nelson Avenue. Narcotics investigators working with the Westchester County Department of Public Safety charged Stewart after a five-month investigation into the sale of crack cocaine. Stewart sold an undercover police officer crack on two occasions in Peekskill, police said. He was held pending arraignment in City Court.
