Poughkeepsie Man Enters Prison With Pot, Pills, Police Say

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A Peekskill man was charged Friday, Nov. 11, with trying to pass drugs to an inmate at the Greene Correctional Facility, according to the New York State Police.

Raequan M. Small, 28, was apprehended with 10 grams of synthetic marijuana and 46 miscellaneous pills that he was attempting to pass to an inmate. The pills consisted of trazodone, oxcarbazepine, naproxen, hydrochlorothiazide, lisinopril and fluoxetine. None of which are controlled substances, police said.

Small was charged with two counts of promoting prison contraband and one count of violation of state sanitary code, a violation.

He was released and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Nov. 21.
