Police: Peekskill Man Charged With DWI After Accident

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – A 24-year-old Peekskill man was reportedly arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a two-vehicle accident at around 11:30 p.m. March 9 on Washington Street.

The man was arrested and transported to the Peekskill Police Station where tests revealed his blood alcohol level to exceed 0.08 percent, police said. The man was also found in possession of crack cocaine, police said. He was treated for a minor injury by the Peekskill Voluntary Ambulance Corps and no one else was injured in the accident, police said. 

Peekskill Police also reported the following items from March 5 to 12:

  • A Peekskill man was arrested after police spotted him and recognized that he was wanted in connection with a March 2 incident involving “intentional damage of a 2004 BMW,” police said. The man was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal mischief.
  • Peekskill Police arrested a 48-year-old woman from Peekskill after a traffic stop indicated that she had been driving without a license following 18 violations on 12 different dates, police said. The woman was reportedly arrested at around 2 a.m. Tuesday on Main Street after being stopped for a vehicle equipment violation, Peekskill Police said. She was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a vehicle – a felony charge.
  • The Peekskill Police Department is asking residents to “stay vigilant” with warmer weather approaching as the warmer months typically indicate an increase in larcenies and burglaries.
