Troopers responded to the home after receiving a 911 call from a neighbor for a reported burglary and assault on Friday, Sept. 9. When troopers arrived they found the resident had been attacked by Julian A. Moreno, 32, who was armed with a crowbar. Moreno struck the victim in the head with the crowbar as the two fought with each other, state police said.

The victim was able to get control of the crowbar and struck Moreno before he fled the scene on his motorcycle.

Moreno was located later the same day by Danbury Police at the Applebee's restaurant on Federal Road in Connecticut. Moreno was placed in custody and booked as a fugitive from justice.

Since his extradition to New York, Moreno has been held at the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail or $10,000.00 bond. He is due to appear in court on Oct. 6.
