Police officers were dispatched to the Preserve at approximately 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3 following reports from a local Mianus River Road homeowner, who said that there was a car was loitering in front of his driveway for a time before proceeding down the roadway toward the nature preserve, which is closed for the season.
The vehicle was described by police as a blue, older model hatchback with a noisy muffler. The operator was described as a male wearing a green hoodie. No other details on the vehicle or its driver were released.
Police said the caller who reported the suspicious vehicle said that he was concerned due to recent break-ins in the area, which have been reported. Responding officers canvassed the area with negative results.
