PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – A driver remained in critical condition Monday after a crash early Sunday on the Bear Mountain State Parkway.

A portion of the parkway was closed about 4:45 a.m. after a Toyota Corolla overturned, said Peekskill Police Lt. Eric Johansen. The driver was taken to Westchester Medical Center, but the four passengers were unharmed.

"We did an accident reconstruction at the scene and are reviewing the evidence," Johansen said Monday.

Toxicology tests performed on the driver may take several days, and speed was being reviewed as a factor in the accident, he said.
