Sonia Centeno was last seen alive during the winter of 2006 on the city’s Main Street, state police said.

On Aug. 4 of that year, two Dutchess County residents walking around the old Porter Farm on Mountain Road make a grisly discovery – what appeared to be a human hand poking out of a shallow grave – and called 911.

Centeno’s body was positively identified about two weeks later.

Centeno, who was Hispanic, was 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighed 117 pounds.

She had a tattoo of a winger lion on her chest, police said.

When her body was discovered, Centeno was wearing black high-heeled ankle booties, a blue fleece Okemo Ski Area zip-up vest and a dark-colored tunic.

Police said it appears that Centeno had been dead for between three and seven months.

Police said they have followed up on numerous leads but have not been able to solve the homicide case.
