Person Extricated After Car Slams Into Tree In Lagrangeville

LAGRANGEVILLE, N.Y. -- Just minutes after mopping up a brush fire, the LaGrange fire department was dispatched to a vehicle crash near Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church with a person trapped in the vehicle.

Chief Barry Ward said the crash occurred around 3:30 p.m.on Route 82 in Lagrangeville when the driver lost control and hit a tree.

By the time firefighters arrived, one person was out of the vehicle and one person was trapped inside, he added.

Firefighters were able to extradite the person and transported both the driver and the passenger to a nearby hospital for treatment of traumatic injuries, Ward said.
