On October 23, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Hawthorne barracks charged Newsome with offering a false instrument for filing, 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.
The arrest stems from a complaint received by the New York State Department of Labor Special Investigation Division that indicates Newsome unlawfully collected unemployment insurance benefits between November of 2012 and November of 2013 while she was gainfully employed.
She was released on summonses pending a court appearance.
