Peekskill Teen Charged With Failure To Appear In Yorktown Court

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Dezon J. Washington, a 19-year-old Peekskill resident, has been arrested on a bench warrant after he failed to appear in court and violated his probation, on Tuesday, Sept. 30, police said.

The Yorktown Justice Court issued a bench warrant on Tuesday, June 24, for violation of probation and failure to appear. Washington voluntarily surrendered to the Peekskill Police Department, according to police. 

Yorktown officers responded to the Peekskill and placed Washington under arrest, according to police. 

Following processing at the Yorktown Police Department, he was arraigned and held at the Westchester County Jail on $250 bail. Washington is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m.
