Peekskill Police: Shots Fired At Dunbar Heights

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. ‒ Peekskill police detectives are investigating two seperate reports of shots fired in the Dunbar Heights Housing project on Highland Avenue, according to a statement released Tuesday morning.

The first incident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26, and a suspect has been identified and is being sought by police. The second incident occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28.

Neither incident resulted in injury or property damage, according to police, and detectives are still trying to determine a motive. Extra patrols have been detailed to Dunbar Heights in the wake of the shootings. Anyone with information is asked to contact Peekskill Police at 914-737-8000.
