PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have charged a Peekskill man with driving while intoxicated and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Jose L. Morocho Morocho, 25, of Peekskill, was arrested at 3:32 p.m. Monday on Crompond Road, police said.

Yorktown police responded to a report of a car accident about 3:20 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Crompond and Old Yorktown roads. An investigation by Detective Scott Sage revealed that Morocho Morocho was intoxicated and had failed to obtain a New York state driver's license within 30 days of moving from another state, police said.

After processing at police headquarters, Morocho Morocho was released on $200 bail and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Tuesday, Dec. 8, according to police.
