PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Blame it on the heat. A city man faces felony burglary charges after being accused of stealing an air conditioning unit from his neighbor last week.
Jose Suarez, 27, of Peekskill was arrested on July 18 at 12:45 p.m. on Freemont Street and charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony, by Police Officer Doug LaPerche, according to police.
Suarez was charged with burglary after it was learned he entered a neighbor’s apartment and removed an air conditioning unit and a television without permission, police said. Both items were recovered following a brief investigation. Suarez was held without bail for arraignment in City Court.
