Cavin Williams, 31, and Christine Nohai, 41, fled from the Triangle Center around 1 p.m. Jan. 18 in a pick-up truck after purchasing $243.90 worth of clothing with a stolen credit card, according to the police report.
Officer Brian Nicholson followed the truck on Crompond Road to Quaker Church Road until it ran into an embankment at the intersection Quaker Church and Saw Mill River roads, police said. Williams, who was driving, allegedly ran into the woods while Nohai was taken into custody, police said.
Williams was located by the K-9 unit 20 minutes later at the BOCES Pines Bridge campus, the report said.
Police said they found seven stolen credit cards on Williams and Nohai, Each was charged with seven counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a felony, police said.
The two were also charged with petty larceny and unlawfully fleeing a police officer with a motor vehicle, misdemeanors. Additionally, Williams was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and nine other vehicle and traffic law violations.
Williams and Nohai were processed on the charges at Yorktown Justice Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail without bail. They are due back in court Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
