When firefighters arrived at the fire around 2:45 p.m. at 820 Oakwood Drive, they found the fire had started at the pick-up truck and quickly moved to the surrounding brush and up the outside of the home, fire officials said.
Thanks to the quick work, the fire never moved inside the home, despite high winds in the area at the time.
The home received damage to a portion of the exterior and the truck was destroyed. The entire fire was out within five minutes, fire officials said.
The department received assistance from Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department and the Montrose Volunteer Fire Department.
