Officers from the Yorktown Police Department were dispatched shortly before 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 2 to the Shell Gas Station on Main Street, where there was a report of an altercation in progress.

Upon arrival, officers said that the investigation into the incident determined that Mohegan Lake resident Michael Converso, 57, allegedly “stuck his victim in the mouth, causing injuries and extreme pain to his victim.” He was arrested at the scene and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.

Converso was charged with a misdemeanor count of third-degree assault, and a Temporary Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victim. Following arraignment, Converso was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on June 21 to answer the charge.
