Man Charged With DWI After Hitting Police Car On Sprain Brook Parkway

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- An Ossining man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he allegedly struck the rear of a police vehicle on the Sprain Brook Parkway, according to New York State Police.

On Nov. 23, at approximately 8 p.m., troopers were performing traffic control following a crash that occurred on the parkway, police said.

Despite having the patrol vehicle's emergency lights activated, Robert J. Weyrauch, 59, reportedly failed to move over to the right lane and allegedly he subsequently struck the rear of the police vehicle, according to police.

Further investigation reportedly revealed Weyrauch was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the collision, police said.

Weyrauch was charged with DWI when a criminal history reportedly revealed that he was convicted of a DWI-related offense in June of 2011, according to police.

Weyrauch is due to appear in Mount Pleasant Court on Dec. 10, police said.
