Man Charged With Assaulting State Troopers Outside Cortlandt Deli

MONTROSE, N.Y. -- New York State Police charged a Montrose man with assaulting two state troopers outside a Cortlandt delicatessen on Saturday, Aug. 30, officials said.

Carlos J. Rosario, 48, had allegedly assaulted another man outside the deli, causing the two troopers to investigate. While interviewing Rosario, he allegedly became violent and began kicking and punching the troopers, according to state police. 

Rosario was subdued with pepper spray and was charged with three counts of second-degree assault, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, one count of obstruction of governmental administration and one count of resisting arrest, authorities said.
