Mahopac Resident Charged With Stealing Car Key In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 39-year-old resident of Mahopac on larceny and criminal mischief charges after a reported domestic dispute.

An officer responded to the report of a domestic complaint on Cross Road on Wednesday, May 4, at approximately 7:24 p.m., according to police.

An investigation was completed at the scene; the suspect, identified as Richard E. Flynn, was alleged to have stolen a car key valued at $125 from the victim and prevented her from calling police for assistance during the argument, police report.

Flynn was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters for processing, according to officials.

He has been charged with petty larceny and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, both class A misdemeanors, police report.

Following his arraignment, Flynn was released on his own recognizance, with a temporary order of protection issued on behalf of the victim, police report.

The defendant is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, May 10, according to officials.
