Lake Peekskill Resident Charged With Possessing Open Container, Jaywalking

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Lake Peekskill man was charged with violating the town’s law against open containers after police said he was spotted with a bottle of beer in the parking lot of a gas station.

Eric Miller, 27, was also charged Tuesday, March 22, with jaywalking, a violation of vehicle and traffic law, police said.

According to police, an employee of the Courtesy Shell, located at 930 East Main St. (Route 6) called them after midnight to complain that a man had an open bottle of beer.

When Miller was approached by officers, he crossed Route 6 outside of the crosswalk, police said.

Miller was released on his own recognizance to a family member and is to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Tuesday, April 12, police said.
