ID Released For Girl Killed After Being Hit By Pickup Truck On Route 17

State police have identified a 15-year-old girl who was killed Thursday night after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing Route 17 in Wallkill Thursday night.

Hope Vandermark, 15 of Middletown was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck in the westbound lane by a 2002 Chevy pickup truck driven by 20-year-old Nicholas Hurst of Bloomingburg.

Hurst was not charged in the incident. The investigation revealed that he was not impaired, distracted or speeding. The investigation is ongoing.
