Gas Line Damaged In Peekskill During Main Replacement Work

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Con Edison employees discovered a gas main leak while performing main replacement work on Cortlandt Street in Peekskill on Tuesday.

The break in a 2-inch line at 1115 Cortlandt St., was discovered at 9:57 a.m., said ConEd Spokesman Bob McGee.

Repair crews were able to replace the line within an hour of finding the break, he added.

No one was injured during the event, McGee said.
