Five Injured In Drunken Driving Crash As Beacon Man Hits Trooper's Vehicle

A Beacon man is facing multiple charges after he was accused of hitting a state trooper's car while driving drunk in a crash that injured five people.

State Police were issuing a speeding citation to a Honda Odyssey on the right shoulder, when the driver of a 2004 Acura side swiped the trooper's car and then struck the Honda on Sunday, May 15 at approximately 2:27 a.m., state police said.

The driver of the Acura, later identified as, Jesse B. Frehling, 24, of Beacon, was found to be intoxicated, according to state police. 

Cornwall EMS responded and tended to the driver of the Honda and his five passengers. They were all transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for minor injuries. The troopers and Frehling were uninjured.

Frehling was transported and processed at State Police barracks in Montgomery where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.15 percent, police said. He was charged with: driving while intoxicated (a misdemeanor) and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
