Troopers stopped a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle on Thursday, April 6 for having an invalid New York State Inspection sticker.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the motorcycle James C. Walton of Fishkill was operating was bearing a counterfeit cardboard license plate, police said.

Walton was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree and issued several traffic tickets including operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninspected vehicle, and operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle license.

Walton was arraigned in the Town of Wappinger Justice Court before Judge Wolfson and released on his own recognizance. Walton is scheduled to appear in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on April 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
