CROTON, N.Y. - A fire destroyed an abandoned building on the Stokes-Greene property in Croton during a fire deemed suspicious by police, according to lohud.com.

The fire on Croton Dam Road broke out early Sunday morning near the Croton Dam entrance on Route 129, and brought dozens of firefighters and equipment from Croton and other departments to the structure, described as a garage or warehouse-type building.

Because there is no electricity to the building, an official called the fire suspicious, said lohud.com. Go here for the report.

A News 12 story had earlier reported that the blaze required firefighters to bring in water tankers to put out the flames.
