Drowning Victim Pulled From River In Peekskill

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. — The body of a drowning victim was pulled from the Hudson River at Riverfront Green Park in Peekskill at about 6 p.m. Friday by a Westchester County Police Department marine unit.

The unidentified male victim was taken to shore at about 6 p.m., according to Peekskill City Manager Brian Havranek, who said he had little information about the accident.

"They just took the body away a little while ago," Havranek said Friday evening. "They had the area all quartered off."

County Police did not immediately respond to a request for more information. Peekskill Police did not assist in the the investigation.
