Cortlandt Man, 23, Charged With Leaving Scene Of Accident

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A 23-year-old Cortlandt man is facing a misdemeanor charge after a car crash on Hill Boulevard.

William R. O'Rielly was arrested Sept. 15 after officers investigating the crash at 3505 Hill Boulevard found that he been behind driving one of the vehicles without a license, police said.

The 23-year-old, whose driving privileges had previously been suspended by the Department of Motor Vehicles, is accused of driving away from the scene of the 6 p.m. crash. No serious injuries were reported.

Police said they arrested O'Rielly at his home, 11 Pine Road, Cortlandt, about 7:30 p.m. that night.

O'Rielly, who authorities believe also makes a home in Peekskill, was later released without bail, police said. He faces charges of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, an infraction.

Police said O'Rielly is to appear in Yorktown Town Court a 6 p.m. Oct. 22.
