Careless Cooking Causes Peekskill Fire Scare

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- A Peekskill resident learned an important lesson about turning the stove off Wednesday afternoon.

Peekskil firefighters responded to Main Street after someone left the stove on.

The Peekskill Fire Department rushed to Main Street (Route 6) near the intersection of Route 9 responding to a structure fire, but discovered someone was cooking food on the stove and left it on.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred around 4 p.m.
