PEEKSKILL, N.Y.--An accident on the eastbound lanes of the Bear Mountain State Parkway between Hudson and Highland Avenues caused backups for about a quarter of a mile Thursday afternoon.

Officials were at the scene of the accident at 1 p.m. Motorists are urged to find an alternate route.

Thunderstorm Warnings Posted For Westchester For Tuesday

WESTCHESTER, N.Y. - The National Weather Service posted a thunderstorm warning for southern Westchester County at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.

The storms could be accompanied by lightning, hail and high winds of up to 50 mph, the weather service said.
