PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Virginia Carney, a lifelong resident of Peekskill, died Nov.19. She was 91.
Carney was born July 9, 1922, daughter of William and Edna (Holmes) Carney. She worked for 34-years for Standard Brands in Peekskill, where she was a member of their Quarter Century Club, she retired from there in 1975. She attended the Van Cortlandtville Community Church.
Carney is survived by her companion, Harry Guzi and his family; cousins, Jane (Philip) Franssen and Jeannine Haight; nephew and niece. She was predeceased by her parents; and cousins, Dorothy Haggerty and Mildred Nacke.
Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Peekskill, where a Funeral Service will be offered at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 followed by interment in the Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
