PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Roberta E. "Tissy" Gallagher, 87, of Peekskill, died Sunday, June 28 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, New York.
She was born in Peekskill Jan. 8, 1928, to Margaret and Arthur Grab. She attended local area schools and was a graduate of Peekskill High School. On July 18, 1953, she married Charles B. Gallagher at the Assumption Church in Peekskill. He predeceased her in October 1996.
She is survived by four children, George Gallagher of Peekskill; Charlann Charland ( (James) of Amsterdam; Erin Newton (Alexander) of Cortlandt Manor, New York; and Lynn Gilchrist (James) of Mahopac, New York; six grandchildren; and a sister of Peekskill.
Visitation is Tuesday, June 30 from 4-7 p.m. at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill. A mass of Christian burial will be offered Wednesday July 1 at 11:30 a.m. at Assumption Church, 131 Union Ave., Peekskill. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
